Being a design led specialist contractor Astec Projects overcame architectural design issues by creating a bespoke system that achieved the required result for the client, completing on time and within budget. Astec projects were voted 'The Works Package Contractor who has made the greatest contribution to the success of Gloucester Quays' - Bovis Lend Lease.

The main wall is American Ash with GRG cladding above. This is made up of rectangular mouldings comprising off-site fabricated 159 x 2900mm panels in 3nr lengths of 38x27mm American Ash rectangular mouldings, Drycon FRT treated, secured to an extruded aluminium plate section for site face fixing through recessed gaps between battens to the galvanised steel substructure.

The end wall is Parklex 700 in Natural Oak veneer with perforated holes complete with black felt backing. Aluminium top-hat sections are screwed to the steel uprights at horizontal joint positions to provide support for the extrusion sections. The top-hat section is pre-rolled to the desired radius to form the wavy curved elevation.

Substructure work comprises pre-galvanised 41x41mm steel lipped channel sections set vertically at notional 750mm centres, projected off the concrete slab edges and bolted to same with inc plated expanding anchors.
