This project for quadrant ceilings combines a number of different materials and called for a very high degree of understanding regarding the setting out and integration of the various elements within the elliptical profile of the four node (quadrant) ceilings.
A mixture of precast GRG, StoSilent panels, plasterboard, demountable plaster tiles, metal light boxes and glass smoke curtains were brought together to achieve the harmonious and monolithic appearance sought by the clients designers. The acoustic performance of these areas was also critical, so StoSilent panels were specified and installed, supported on a dedicated galvanized metal grid system and finished with a StoSilent Superfein spray finish. Work was completed by the company's craftsmen specifically trained to apply this very specialist finish.
Elsewhere preformed curved light boxes with integral access panels were designed, manufactured and installed to comply with the circular effect of the ceiling plane. The curved glass smoke curtains and profiled GRG bulkhead with integral lighting to the central voids were set out from predetermined datum marks. Especially manufactured trapezoidal demountable plaster panels complete the extent of the ceilings to the various shop fronts and wall linings that surround these core areas.
