Having undergone a multimillion pound external facelift and Cat A internal fit out, which achieved a BREEAM excellent award, the reception was created to raise the profile of 2 Colmore Square in the business district of Birmingham City Centre.

Seamore Harris Architecture provided the design and specification for internal fit-out that consisted of structural steelwork supporting reconstituted GRC hung panels to the external walls, fibrous plaster curved ceiling details and the formation of a first floor meeting room with structural glazing.

Other ancillary areas included in the internal refurbishment were toilet provisions, staff areas and building managers office, meeting areas as well as common parts, including stairways, car park lift lobbies and stairways.
