This high profile project in the centre of London provided the London School of Economics with over 12,600m
2 of adaptable teaching space covering 11 storeys on the site of an existing building.
The existing Edwardian stone facade was retained and a new steel framed structure constructed behind it.
The new building features a combination of restored stone, slate and modern structural glazing.
The basement houses a 450 seat lecture theatre with unobstructed views which is achieved by 'hanging' the structure from massive trusses at the top of the building.
PAN Interiors was appointed by Osborne to design, supply and install the suspended ceilings, drywall partitions, glazed screens and thermal linings throughout the building.
Working closely with the design team, which included prestigious architectural practice, Grimshaw, PAN was called upon to integrate a ceiling membrane including over 35 bespoke panel sizes with chilled beams and glazed partitioning.
Manufacturers called upon included SAS International, Knauf Drywall and Fastwall Partitions.
