The project was the fitting out of office and support accommodation for the Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance.
The works were to Eagle House which had recently been constructed to a Cat A level. The project was procured under a two stage tender process in order that Pencabe could become an integrated part of the design process. Pencabe had design responsibility for various elements, including the conservatory.
The office accommodation was constructed from Komfort LS90 partitioning, with a smaller amount of Komfort Polar glazing. Dryline partitioning was used for ancillary areas. The ceilings were OWA.
A conservatory was installed on the second floor roof. Access to the site was very restricted and the conservatory had to be delivered in small components which were delivered via a 25 tonne mobile crane and assembled on site.
A lecture theatre was constructed from bespoke walnut acoustic Soundsorba partitioning, and required the detailed co-ordinations of advanced audio visual installation with both the M&E services and the finishes.
Mechanical ventilation was installed, requiring fresh air exhaust louvers in the vertical face of the building over all floors. Access was particularly restricted as the building is adjoined by residential properties and a cemetery.
