Luxury accessories designer Lulu Guinness selected Portview to realise its new boutique in London's fashionable Knightsbridge.

As a high-end brand, Lulu Guinness demanded a high-end fit-out finish. The store's design was inspired by the 'salon' style of the 1920s. This meant Portview needed to work with a wide range of materials and employ a wide range of fit-out techniques. For example, the design specification demanded the use of chrome, marble, heavy-duty glass and faded brass. One of the most striking design details was also the most labour intensive from a fit-out perspective.

The back wall of the shop was covered with Lulu Guinness' phrases and maxims about life, glamour and fashion. Initially the text was applied by bespoke digitally printed wallpaper.
Selected phrases were then highlighted with red crystals, which Portview's fit-out team painstakingly applied individually. These final flourishes were applied after Portview totally stripped back the original retail interior and fire proofed the underside of the first floor - a necessity that hadn't been originally anticipated.
