This project comprised, the formation of a new four floor educational building with an area of roughly 2,500m2 per floor.

Metsec framing was used to the perimeter of the building along with external Versapanel cement particle board for render and curtain walling. Internally the Metsec was insulated with Rockwool Flexi, Visqueen vapour barrier and two layers of 15mm Fermacell boarding. Four external feature piers were also constructed from Metsec and bespoke metal framing.

The internal partitions were constructed in four main wall types. Xella high performance drylining systems were adopted providing the specified fire ratings, impact resistance and the high levels of acoustic sound reduction specified.

Curved partition walls and linings were constructed on the ground floor and twin wall partition systems constructed to form the performance hall.
Within the atrium Quad Building Services formed numerous balustrades walls with bespoke support and restraint metal framing and posts.

Coordination with the M&E contractor forming bespoke letter box openings for the installation of the highly serviced installation expected from a new college building, including providing patresses and noggins for both M&E services and client fixed furniture and fittings.
SAS system 150, 1200 x 300mm planks were installed to the corridors. This system was adopted to enable the ceiling to span wall to wall as support from the soffit was obstructed by services.

Three types of AMF ceilings were used ? AMF Fine Stratus 600 x 600 to classrooms, offices and staircases. AMF Thermaclean to showers, toilets and wet areas and AMF Thermofon Acoustic Ceilings were installed to the dance studio, music rooms and theatre and TV studios.

In the kitchen areas a plasterboard raft ceiling was installed and in the refectory an Ecophon Acoustic raft ceiling.

To the atrium Quad installed an Ecophon Master Solo ceiling with Ecophon Vertical Suspended ceiling baffles with fixed Ecophon wall panels.
Upstands to the roof lights were formed with a decorative Gyptone Rigitone Board which runs along the perimeters of the roof lights at the top level.

The overall installation which uses many different and diverse systems has been designed and installed to a high quality and to the client's approval.
