This project involved the refurbishment and transformation of an existing store into the largest, luxury jewellers in the North East.
The 25 year old store, which opened in July, boasts the Goldsmiths' first Shop-in-Shop Boutique, which sells a number of exclusive products and is now hailed as the company's flagship store.
The refurbishment work was carried out in two phases. Phase one included a two week refit and closure of the 250ft
2 upper level. This reopened on 28 April which allowed the store to continue to trade, whilst the 360ft
2 ground floor underwent an eight week refit.
The Patton specialist joinery manufacturing facility made all of the panelling and jewellery cabinets in the store. Bespoke items consisted of jewellery display cabinets constructed from top quality, solid American Walnut. The cabinets supported large visual display areas with toughened security glazing to reflect white leather display beds and mounted on stainless steel floor supports. This was complimented by the use of walnut veneer panels to the interior of the retail boundary, including the VIP Fitting Room and Shop Front Window Back display areas.
Preceding the start of the project a thorough site survey was carried out and a 'full size' footprint of the proposed retail store was re-created onto Patton's workshop floor. Here every component was carefully measured and manufactured to fit perfectly before dismantling, transporting and installing the finished product on site. The client was absolutely delighted with the quality of handover and the first class service that they received from Patton Fit-Out. At the official handover, Alan Perry from Goldsmiths added that Patton Fit-Out had to be commended for handing over such an impressive state-of-the-art flagship showroom in such a challenging timescale, whilst keeping the Goldsmiths tills ringing.
