PZ Cussons' vision was to create a new office design set to drive increased business efficiency through innovative, efficient interior designs, promoting future growth and evoking a stimulating business environment.

The scope of work included full M&E installation, specialist joinery works, glazed and plasterboard partitioning, hard and soft flooring works, decoration, specialist catering counters and equipment, ceiling works and external works.

POE works commenced with a three month design development period during which all the specialist joinery and M&E services were designed and approved by the client and their consultants. Due to the speed of the project we approached each of the three floors as separate projects and allocated full teams including site management to each floor. The top two floors were accelerated to enable the client to gain early possession and set-up IT and AV systems.

The building shell was specified to a Cat A standard on the upper floors ready for PZ to convert to general office space. The ground floor was built to an empty shell ready for PZ's vision to create multipurpose meeting/presentation area, incorporating a diverse mix of informal rooms and breakout areas within the east wing and restaurant, gymnasium and comms support facilities within the West wing.

Informal/meditative meeting space was created under a Starron wave wall and ceiling raft fronted by frameless Optima full height glass panels and doors. A formal and flexible meeting suite including a boardroom was formed by the use of a double glazed folding wall system which converts the four meeting rooms into a larger auditorium space. Within the central zone between the formal and informal meeting rooms is a presentation platform area which is divided with fabric sails to act as individual informal meeting spaces or product display areas.

As you leave the east wing the Staron Wave ebbs down to form a modern and fresh café bar creating a relaxed environment further enhanced by illuminated walls within the Wii area and acrylic light portals within the adjacent reception. As you enter the West wing you discover a fully equipped staff restaurant capable of serving 100 staff and visitors within a comfortable banquet seated area. Just beyond the restaurant there is a fully equipped gymnasium and shower facility.

The top two floors have been fitted out to create open desking to the North and South elevations with open and enclosed meeting rooms down the central spine of each floor. The meeting zones have been created by the use of interchangeable room dividers and full height Optima glazed partitioning. The East and West wings are separated by central zoned breakout areas comprising of a curved kitchen with high breakfast bars incorporating hot and chilled water Zip taps, dishwashers and larder fridges.
