Donovan Data Systems was a Category B project from shell and core, utilising interesting materials to provide fantastic finishes. Including pre-constituted glass floor tiles bonded to a raised floor system, oak veneered perforated ceiling panels made in Sweden by Gustaf (never been used in commercial office space before), generic Komfort range standard single glazed partitions, Burlington Green slate floor street area and altro red studded safety flooring to common areas.
Additional unusual designs included rotating black leather banquette seating, feature recondition, real telephone boxes, square glass meeting pods, funky designed caf? area with exposed painted services and front of house transparent comms room.
Guest judge Jack Pringle, partner Pringle Brandon commented:
A refreshingly non-formulaic and truly differentiated office design by 11.04 Architects has been immaculately implemented by Structure Tone and their team to the transparent delight and satisfaction of the client whose brief has been clearly met. Timber acoustic ceilings, crystalline quiet rooms and spinning waltzer caf? tables are only upstaged by (appropriately for a data company) a truly obsessively well constructed data room. Reduced energy consumption and recycled materials attest to the importance paid to the green agenda.
