The most remarkable feat of this design and build project was the quality, complexity and volume of the work achieved in the time frame requested by the client.
In just six weeks 13,500ft2 of internal refurbishment work was carried out including structural steel openings, bespoke joinery, bespoke toilet and shower facilities, new lighting scheme, partitioning, comms rooms, board rooms, audio visual work and furniture as well as the liaisons in order to gain listed building consent. This was all achieved on the 6th and 7th floors of a Victorian building during full occupation from above and below.
The clients brief was to have a space that was bright, more open and encourage more interaction between all personnel. This was achieved by harmonising the lighting scheme with all finishes, installing structural steel frame work and removing load bearing walls and combining two existing kitchen areas on separate floors into one central hub area on the 7th floor.
The feedback from the end users is that the space they now work in makes it a joy to get up in the morning!
