This high specification design and build fit out project for the Central Library at Imperial College London includes a new entrance, library reception, cafe, research space, breakout and teaching areas plus all related services.
Offering students a unique research, study and learning environment, the area caters for individual and group working preferences including a 'mobile zone' with movable partitions, ambient orange 'C' screens constructed from fibreglass, honeycomb partitioned think tanks and a library cafe area offering power, data and wireless access. Movable EML sectional screens further increase the flexibility of the space.
The project boasts many bespoke features and incorporates a wide range of materials and textures, one example being the beautifully finished American walnut joinery throughout the entrance, window and cafe seating areas using FSC rated timber throughout.
