EC Harris' Bristol office moved from a three storey Georgian town house to an open plan new build contemporary office space in the heart of Bristol's business district.
Utopia created a fresh feeling open plan office making use of the light and airy space which had full height windows on at least 75% of the perimeter of the space.
Distinct 'visitor' and 'staff' areas were created but without losing the open plan feel of the office. This was achieved using a 2m high division wall with glazed sections to provide a physical barrier but still enabling a visual link between the areas.
Various sized meeting rooms were formed in different levels of specification depending on use. All newly constructed partitions were to look as though they were part of the base build so Utopia dispensed with as much exposed framework as possible and provided any new doors to match existing.
A few 'surprises' were provided for those using the new space, one of which was the 'putting green' ad-hoc meeting space to the rear of the office.
The contract was delivered on time, to budget and snag free.
